Candy cane Love heart Sweets

Candy Cane Love Heart Sweets

So I saw an idea for these sweets on line and i thought i would give them a go.
I love candy canes at Christmas and there colours are perfect.

What you need: boiled sweets, Candy Canes, Grease proof paper, cellophane and rope

I used orange and lemon flavoured boiled sweets, however you could use any flavour you would like remembering that the candy canes are slightly minty!
another idea is to use chocolate and melt in the middle

1. Place candy canes in a heart shape on grease proof paper

2.Place a few of your selected mints in a oven proof dish

 3. microwave on 10 second intervals until liquid and slightly bubbling

4. pour in liquid candy into centre of candy canes.
BEWARE : the liquid candy is very very hot, please be cautious when touching the dish as again it will be very hot.

the candy will set very quickly even when pouring so this has to be a quick!

 5. Allow Candy canes to cool for around 10-20 in the fridge

6. any spillage can be easily broken off the candy cane when cooled

7. carefully remove from grease proof paper and set to one side.

8. cut square sized cellophane and place candy canes in the middle. Bring up all edges and tie with ribbon or string.

9. add a festive flower for decoration (i used some spruce)

10. all done you know have candy cane love heart sweets. enjoy
